Michigan native Rusty Wright along with wife Laurie LaCross-Wright, have carved out a thriving career. Now, with the release of Ain't No Good Life, that should change for the better. All the songs with the exception of Summertime (George and Ira Gershwin) were written by Rusty with lyrics by Rusty and Laurie. Opening with the title track Ain't No Good Life, Rusty lays down some delicate slide work over spoken word as an introduction and then continues with his vibrato filled tenor to complete the track.

Not one to stay in one vein for long, the band shifts gears with I Ain't From Mississippi with a rocker filled with Rusty's stinging guitar work along with Laurie's vocals. As a guitarist, Rusty excels in any style he decides to tackle, and as a songwriter, he covers the spectrum from serious topics to making fun of life in general. Joined by Laurie (rhythm guitar, vocals), Steve "Hitman" Himes (keyboards), and Tommy Stewart (drums), the band powers through all 13 tracks like seasoned veterans. I could dissect all the tracks here, but think you as listeners should hear them for yourself. Trust me, you will be hearing a lot more from this band in the near future.
