Billy Gibson is on a roll….and it's about time. A harp virtuoso, Gibson was named "Entertainer of the Year" on Beale Street in Memphis in 2005 and in May of this year was interviewed and the band recorded by the BBC for broadcast in over 200 countries.

From Gibson and band mates David Bowen (guitar, background vocals), Charlie Wood (keyboards, background vocals), James Jackson (bass), and Cedric Keel (drums, background vocals) comes the follow up to the successful 2005 release The Billy Gibson Band.

On Southern Livin', the band continues with the high standards set on previous releases with solid writing, arrangements and by playing their butts off. Mississippi is a fun filled funk that extols the pluses of life in Gibson's home state. Of the ten tracks, all but three were written by either Gibson or keyboardist Charlie Wood. Of the covers, Hip Hug-Her is my favorite. Geez, am I dating myself here? Anyway, I enjoyed this CD and I know you will too.
